Founding Engineer - Full Time - Hybrid - NYC

xNilio is the quoting platform for industrial energy manufacturers. The companies that power the global energy transition run their pipelines on tooling that has not changed in thirty years. We are the team rebuilding that layer. We enable the largest and most advanced technology companies to replace months of back-and-forth between commercial and engineering teams with a system that generates the best-fit configuration from requirements in seconds.
Our team is built of leading experts in AI, engineering software, and data engineering from teams like SpaceX, Carbon, Formlabs, and more. As a founding engineer, you will own the systems that decide whether a multi-million dollar opportunity gets quoted in an afternoon or lost to a faster competitor.
Our Go backend exposes the REST API our Angular frontend consumes, and two Python services handle our backend quoting engine. We run multitenant on GCP Autopilot Kubernetes managed through ArgoCD and Terraform and backed by CloudSQL. You will write code across all of it and set the architectural patterns the next ten engineers inherit.
You are a good fit for xNilio if you have shipped production software at a startup, you move fluently between Go, Python, and TypeScript, and you can debug a Kubernetes deployment without paging anyone. We want engineers with strong opinions about ingestion pipelines when the input is a thousand-page engineering doc, and enough judgment with LLM extraction to know when the fix is a prompt and when the fix is the data model. Industrial domain experience is a plus. Our org runs flat with zero bureaucracy and moves extremely fast. We are passionate about this problem and require enthusiasm and conviction in everything we do.
