Job Description:Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.The RoleWe are seeking a Research Analyst for our Investment Grade Structured Products Research Team, primarily covering CLOs, and over time select ABS sectors. We are looking for an individual who will combine in-depth research coverage with well-developed relative value skills to deliver value across a range of strategies in our taxable bond funds.The Value You DeliverProvide thorough fundamental analysis and research coverage of assigned sectorsCommunicate credit opinions and relative value views through published research as well as in-person meetingsGenerate investment ideas across your coverage in a timely and well-communicated manner, as well as respond to investment opportunities in the marketParticipate in regular discussions on investment strategy and contribute to the ongoing development of the investment processBecome an integral part of the investment team serving a range of fixed income investment mandates with attention to holdings across the Fixed Income bond funds and sensitivity to the differences in mandatesWork with investment professionals across Fidelity globally, including members of the equity, high income and alternatives and asset allocation teamsCollaborate in a heavily team-based investment processMaintain strong relationships with issuers, rating agencies, and analysts while also traveling regularlyProvide strong mentorship of, and close collaboration with, junior members of the research team in support of the research team and investment processAt Fidelity, Research Analysts make recommendations that have significant impact on the funds. You will become a highly valued core member of the research and investment teams (which include portfolio managers, traders and quantitative analysts), actively participating with portfolio managers and traders in strategy sessions that address credit trends and asset allocation. The analytical work requires regular issuer contact, travel, and working together with and mentoring Sector Specialists who provide analytical and data support. You will report to the Managing Director of Research for Financials and Structured Products.The Expertise and Skills You BringThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:Five years or more experience as a fixed income analyst covering CLOs, with current or prior experience covering ABS strongly preferredDemonstrated success making fixed income investment recommendationsStrong analytical and technology skillsCritical thinkingExcellent oral and written communicationGood time managementFlexibility and skill in handling the demands of a broad and diverse coverage loadAbility to think creatively, work collaboratively and make decisions quickly, often with limited informationAn ability to engage proactively with portfolio managers, traders and quantitative analystsThe ability to develop and present investment ideas and investment information in a clear and effective wayA high level of enthusiasm for discovering and responding to new investment opportunitiesProgress towards a CFA or an MBA is preferredThe confidence and the maturity to lead meetings internally and externallyExhibit the highest level of personal and professional integrityThe GroupFidelity’s Fixed Income division is one of the leading managers of bond and money market instruments with over $2 trillion in fixed income assets.
