Information Librarian (Jobs & Careers)

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Librarian to focus on jobs and careers and support our community’s workforce development needs. Responsibilities Proactively engage with customers to meet their information needs on a variety of topics by providing in-depth reference assistance. Provide reference and customer service to diverse audiences at various service points including in-person, via phone, chat, and e-mail. Plan and deliver jobs & careers programming and outreach services. Develop and maintain relationships with organizations and individuals in the community as it relates to subject expertise. Serve as a reference lead and provide staff training. Serve as in-charge staff member to resolve departmental issues. Requirements & Skills One to three years of experience in a library or a similar setting. Excellent research skills with experience helping customers find desired resources and materials. Quick learner with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills. Demonstrated program development and instruction skills. Experience with presentations and public speaking is required. The preferred candidate must also demonstrate ability to work effectively with staff and customers in alignment with Our Culture and IDEA. Education Master of Library Science Degree required. Hours and Scheduling Full-time position 37.5 hours/week. Primarily Monday-Friday, with 1-2 evening shifts weekly and weekend shift rotations. Must be flexible for scheduling to present programs, support events, and serve at public service points.
