Required Looking for a nursing opportunity where you can sharpen your clinical skills, work with a highly collaborative team, and make a meaningful impact every shift? 9 Kaufman is a 24-bed stepdown intermediate care unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital specializing in vascular surgery, telemetry, and renal/pancreas transplant care. As part of the Surgical Specialty Team, our unit brings together RNs, LPNs, Nursing Care Partners, Unit Ambassadors, and Clinical Support Associates who work side by side to deliver exceptional patient care. On 9 Kaufman, you’ll care for a diverse patient population and gain hands-on experience with complex vascular procedures such as aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral bypass surgeries, and amputations. The unit also serves as an extension of our renal/pancreas transplant program, partnering closely with the outpatient transplant center to support patients through critical stages of care. Every bed is monitored, giving nurses the opportunity to strengthen telemetry skills while expanding their expertise in surgical specialty and transplant nursing. We are committed to helping nurses grow professionally. Nurses on 9 Kaufman receive specialized training and are supported in pursuing PCCN certification, creating an environment where learning, confidence, and career advancement are part of the culture. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
