Production Lead

Production LeadLocation: Vidalia, GAShift: 4pm to 12:30am Monday through FridayPay Rate: $18 to $20 hourlyGeneral Description:The Production Lead produces product, meeting or exceeding established standards by means that may include assembly operations up to and including complex machinery.In addition, mentor and develop associates in meeting production goals and requirements while focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost. Assist in continuous improvement, training and development, auditing, and become an "expert" in the fabrication processes.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Lead Roles/Responsibilities:Mentor and develop associatesAssist in training and developmentComplete new hire orientation and ISO training formsSupport and recommend cross training needsLook for ways to eliminate waste and recommend to supervisor/Operation managerFacilitate 3 way communication as neededActively participate in committeesParticipate in continuous improvement brainstorming and processesSupport quality mission, near miss reporting and other company programsSupervise and ensure the safety and quality of the shift in accordance with company policiesAccurately produces quality product by use of machinesMaintains machine:Performs preventative maintenance as scheduledPerforms corrective maintenance as qualifiedProduces product by assembly:Assembles finished product by use of sealing equipment, band saws and other operationsOther duties:Packs finished goodsOperates compactorPhysical Demands:Stand, walk, kneel and climb as neededRegularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs and on occasion lift and/or move 50 lbs with/without the use of material handling equipmentClimb up to eight feet on occasionAbility to communicate clearly with other associates and contract laborRequirements:Preferred Qualifications:Experience:Previous manufacturing or machine operating experienceWork cell environment experience preferred1-2 years as a lead or in a developing role to be a leadEducation &/or Certifications:High school graduate or equivalentPreferred Skills/Qualifications:ERP/MRP experience/skillsetAdept communication skillsAbility to read a ruler within 1/16 inch accuratelyKnowledge of using a calculatorBasic math skills, including calculating linear/square footage and work with fractionsRead/Understand blueprintsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
