Inspector PackerFull time Americas - North America - United States - Bettendorf - RPSNA Bettendorf (Quad Cities) IAINSPECTOR/PACKERPURPOSE:The Inspector/Packer position is an entry level position that is responsible for acting in a safe manner, while inspecting, packaging, and labeling finished goods. This position requires continuous standing, reaching and grabbing during 12 hour shifts.RESPONSIBILITIES:Follow all Berry safety and environmental policies and proceduresFollow OSHA rules and regulationsMonitor quality of product; inspects bottles for defects, inspects boxes for damage and properly follows customer pack patternsCommunicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the Goals of the Department and the PlantAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves and practices good hygieneWilling and able to work overtime when neededIdentify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnelEffectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire, and Accident and direct the activities of othersFollow all Department Procedures and DirectivesJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Properly seal, label and stack cartons of finished productPalletizes boxes weighing up to 35 lbs, band/utilizes pallet banders, moves pallets to staging area, operates pallet jack as required and trainedHand pack bottles according to written instructionsBasic entry level operation of packing equipmentClear product jams as needed and trainedEnsure needed packaging supplies and labels are in production areaPerforms basic housekeeping/5S; sweep, clean and wipe down machinery, maintains a clean and orderly work areaConsistently lift boxes that weigh up to 35lbs.Properly and completely fill out labels and paperworkVerify correct weights and countsStand for up to 12 hours a day packing bottles in cartonsConstruct cardboard boxes from collapsed cartonsWilling and able to work overtime when neededAll other duties as assignedAUTHORITY:Stop WorkPut product on hold for quality issuesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to pass a background check and drug testMust be able to monitor quality of machine outputCapable of lifting (up to 35 pounds)Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarmsMust be able to follow all department procedures and directivesMust be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective mannerPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Manufacturing experienceHigh school diploma/GED or equivalentOur ExpectationsOur people are engaged and developing as part of a high-performing Amcor teamOur customers grow and prosper from Amcor's quality, service, and innovationOur investors benefit from Amcor's consistent growth and superior returnsThe environment is better off because of Amcor's leadership and productsAccelerate the possible by joining a winning Amcor team that's transforming the packaging industry and improving lives around the world.At Amcor, we unpack possibility through our innovative and responsible packaging to provide solutions that benefit our customers, our people and our planet.
