Civil Supervisor Craft Supervision

Day & Zimmermann is seeking civil supervisors to support upcoming Fall Outage work in Hancock's Bridge, NJ. The total number of civil supervisor positions is not yet known; an application will be considered for all positions for the Fall outage. Responsibilities Provides direction to craft employees to meet Safety Goals, Quality requirements, Cost, Schedule, and design requirements. Coordinates job planning, work methods, subcontractors, equipment usage and rentals, and procurement of supplies and tools. Ensures crew and team compliance with the DZ Safety Program and Quality Program. Conducts all work within guidelines, policies, and ethical standards established by the company. Maintains all business records and reports properly and honestly to protect company and client assets. Evaluates subordinates based on their commitment to the Codes of Ethics and Standards of Business. Acts as a role model and engages in field walkdowns of planned and ongoing craft and construction activities. Performs inspections of work in progress to assess status and resolve problems firsthand. Qualifications Strong communication skills, including the ability to read and write complex documents in English. Capacity to reason and make sound decisions. Good visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, transcribe documents, view a computer, inspect objects, and operate machinery. Ability to withstand environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, and extreme noise. Ability to walk, talk, and express thoughts orally (e.g., accurately, quickly, and loudly convey spoken instructions to workers). Great attitude and team player. Successful completion of background screening process. Physical Requirements Visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, transcribe documents, view a computer, read, inspect objects, and operate machinery. Balancing, stooping, reaching, lifting over 15 pounds, walking, repetitive motion, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing or pulling, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, climbing, hearing, talking. Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods of time. Ability to read complex documents in English. Capacity to reason and make sound decisions. Ability to write complex documents in English. Capacity to express thoughts orally. Expertise in wearing a mask, respirator, bullet‑proof vest, or other protective equipment. Ability to regularly perform all job functions at the company’s office or worksite. Ability to withstand environmental conditions such as extreme heat or cold, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, and extreme noise.
