Responsibilities

• Read and follow manufacturing orders and production instructions to understand required ingredients, quantities, and process steps.
• Gather, measure, weigh, and accurately document ingredients according to manufacturing orders, ensuring correct formulations.
• Load ingredients, which may weigh up to 50 lbs., into mixers and operate mixing equipment based on specified time and process parameters.
• Unload mixed batches from the mixer and transfer them safely and efficiently to the next stage of production.
• Operate extrusion equipment to process mixed batches into finished product, monitoring machine settings and performance.
• Use product controls and sensory checks during extrusion to ensure the finished product consistently meets customer specifications.
• Manage and transfer finished product from extrusion and drying processes using drums, carts, or trays to designated areas.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of recent manufacturing experience in production, preferably in a food or similar environment.
• Experience with mixing, extrusion, batching, polishing, and finishing processes preferred; training provided if needed.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50–60 lbs. with or without accommodation on a regular basis.
• Proficiency using hand tools such as RF scanners, hand trucks, and sifting screeners.
• Strong English and math skills, including the ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, and shipping documents.
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays to support production needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Elk Grove Village,IL.
