Speech Language Pathologist- Inpatient NICU/PEDS- PRN

Job Description This position plans, organizes, and conducts speech therapy treatment programs based upon the guidelines established under the state practice act. Maintains patient care records, evaluates the patient’s response to treatment, and recommends treatment plan changes. Participates in in‑service and continuing education programs, special departmental programs, clinical education, and assists with program development and enhancement. Education and Experience Required: Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or related field Required: Current state speech‑pathologist license or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity Preferred: Experience with pediatric and adult populations Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) required within 2 years of hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally Proficiency with Windows-style applications and specialty software related to the role Strong interpersonal skills Good judgment and excellent decision‑making skills in dealing with a variety of patients and diagnoses Job Duties Performs age- and diagnosis-appropriate evaluations and treatments Maintains patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures Recommends alternative plans to accommodate overall department needs and is flexible with schedule adjustments Attains established productivity levels set forth by administration and conducts professional development, required training, and credentialing May be required to educate and train others within the discipline Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy, appropriate introductions, and clear explanations of services or procedures Other related duties as required The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
