Contract | Nights | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Schedules made 4 weeks in advance

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a multi-unit Critical Care service line including CVICU, COVID ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, and PCU, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in ICU and 1:3–4 in PCU
• Manage complex critical care patients presenting with diagnoses including sepsis, DKA, post-MI, ARF, CRRT, rhabdomyolysis, detox, low-level neuro, and post-surgical conditions including open heart surgery
• Titrate critical care drips including vasopressors (levophed, dopamine), sedation (propofol), paralytics, anti-arrhythmics, heparin, and argatroban
• Independently read and interpret EKG/telemetry strips using bedside and nursing station monitors; interpret ABGs
• Troubleshoot and assist with weaning of mechanical ventilators; work alongside respiratory therapy and utilize equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, Vapotherm, and Glidescopes during intubation
• Participate in float rotation to PCU and other critical care areas as needed; respond to rapid response and code blue events as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Strong EKG interpretation skills; ability to independently read telemetry strips
• Experience with ventilator management including weaning and troubleshooting
• Ability to titrate critical care drips and manage high-acuity ICU patients across a broad range of diagnoses and procedures including art lines, chest tubes, EVD, and SWAN catheters

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT
• Background in cardiac surgical care including TAVR, Impella, VAD devices, STEMI, PCI, and CEA
• Familiarity with manual proning techniques
• Prior experience with open heart surgery patients and associated skills checkoff
