You will independently drive complex feature development, lead technical design discussions, influence architectural direction, and mentor engineers while helping accelerate Dell's AI-powered software transformation.This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, control path and data path development for scalable and performance critical solutions.QualificationsEssential Requirements7+ years of software development experience, strong expertise in C/C++, Java or Golang for data path and/or control path services developmentProven experience building and operating large-scale control path or data path services and distributed systems, proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching engineersStrong understanding of virtualized workloads and containerized workloads, strong expertise in debugging, performance optimization, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolutionExpertise with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, OpenStack, and Kubernetes ecosystems, experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability platforms, and software delivery automationDemonstrated ability to independently drive features and complex engineering initiatives with minimal supervision, proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools and modern AI-enabled software development practicesExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsPreferred RequirementsExperience in Data Protection, Cyber Recovery, Storage, Backup & Recovery, or Enterprise Infrastructure Software, experience developing software across public cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments., experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as RabbitMQ, or similar platformsKnowledge of AI/ML systems, GenAI applications, Agentic AI frameworks, and intelligent automation platforms, experience influencing architecture and technical strategy across multiple teamsResponsibilitiesYou willLead the design and development of highly performant services and distributed systems supporting Dell's Data Protection portfolio, lead design reviews and code reviews while championing engineering excellence and software craftsmanshipIndependently drive complex features and projects from concept, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support, define service contracts, API standards, scalability strategies, resiliency mechanisms, and operational excellence practicesPartner with architects and product management to translate business objectives into technical solutions and engineering roadmaps, drive improvements in reliability, observability, automation, performance, scalability, and developer productivityTroubleshoot and resolve highly complex production issues spanning multiple services, environments, and technology stacks, champion AI-assisted development, agentic engineering practices, and intelligent automation across the software development lifecycleAct as a technical leader and owner who balances innovation, execution, customer value, and operational excellence, mentor and coach junior engineers, helping raise technical capability and delivery effectiveness across the teamAbout the companyWho We AreWe believe that each of us has the power to make an impact.
