Maintenance Technician I

Maintenance Technician I repairs and maintains production machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. Schedule: Rotating 12‑hour shift with alternating weekends. Responsibilities Performs preventative maintenance duties as prescribed by the CMMS such as greasing plant equipment, changing oil, cleaning filters, and general equipment maintenance. Uses CMMS to catalogue work completed. Communicates with shift leaders and production employees to understand daily needs. Interprets a production setup to accurately perform a tooling operation. Fills out all maintenance checklists in full. Maintains parts inventory accuracy within the CMMS. Assists shift personnel with tooling functions. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Records entries into PDE. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Current driver’s license in good standing. Adaptable and able to change work direction on short notice to accommodate business needs. Knowledge of basic shop tools, grinders, magnetic drill, hammer drill, and micrometer. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages). Ability to interpret bar graphs. Common‑sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions. Problem‑solving in standardized situations. Effective written and verbal communication. Operates drills, grinders, and other maintenance shop tools. Welding skills or willingness to learn. Willingness and ability to travel between plants or to obtain parts if necessary. Reliably meets shift flexibility requirements. Physical Demands Lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds. Work 12‑hour shifts. Perform repetitive tasks. Stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk routinely. Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in tight spaces. Maintain good vision, depth perception, and focus. Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks. PPE Requirements Safety shoes (steel or composite toe). Safety glasses. Bump caps. Protective gloves during certain tasks. Hearing protection when required. Other personal protective equipment as required for specific tasks.
