Mental Health Associate I - Linden Oaks Hospital ; Adult High Intensity - Day Shift

Hourly Pay Range: $24.86 - $37.29 (based on experience) Position Highlights Position: Mental Health Associate I Sign on bonus: N/A Location: Linden Oaks Hospital; Naperville, IL Part Time/Full Time: Part Time (20 hours) Hours: 7:00-3:30 PM (Rotating Hours/Weekends) A Brief Overview The Mental Health Associate I provides direct patient care to patients with mental health disorders. The role includes treatment planning and implementation while facilitating groups within assigned treatment programs. The Associate ensures patient safety and well‑being by maintaining a safe environment and documenting according to department/organization procedures. What you will do Facilitate didactic, educational, and unit/program community groups within assigned treatment programs. Encourage and facilitate patients’ participation in therapeutic activities. Supervise patients to ensure their safety and involvement in treatment. Ensure patient safety by providing one‑to‑one supervision. Conduct unit rounds and complete precautions records in real time with accurate labeling. Orient new patients to unit, program, and milieu by establishing rapport with patients and families and making necessary introductions. Provide appropriate hand‑off information when accepting or receiving borders from other units. Participate in treatment planning by working with interdisciplinary team to identify patients’ problems, needs, and strengths; suggest modifications to treatment plan based on observation of patient behavior and provide input into discharge planning. Complete patient, program, and department documentation. Perform various clerical and administrative assignments to support department operations. Monitor and report patients’ progress and communicate information to charge person on assigned shift and family members. What you will need Education and/or Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Behavioral Health related field – no previous experience required. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a non‑Behavioral Health related field – minimum of one year of behavioral health experience. Maintain information as highly confidential. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision. Education and/or Experience Preferred Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology. Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living. Prior experience with therapeutic limit‑setting and milieu management. Licensure and/or Certification Required A valid driver’s license is required if duties are performed at an off‑site location. If a personal vehicle is used, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of hire. Current CPR certification issued by either the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
