As the Assistant Vice President of Accounting, you'll play a critical leadership role in ensuring the financial strength and sustainability of one of Greater Cincinnati's largest nonprofit behavioral health and education organizations.

This leader oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, audits, and internal controls while helping guide strategic financial decisions that maximize our ability to serve those who need us most. This role is ideal for an experienced nonprofit or healthcare finance leader who is passionate about mission-driven work and understands how strong financial stewardship creates lasting community impact.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000–$145,000 annually, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or MBA required

• Seven (7) to ten (10)+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience

• Demonstrated experience leading audits, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls

• Experience in nonprofit, behavioral healthcare, healthcare, education, or other human services organizations strongly preferred

• Experience managing grant funding, government contracts, Medicaid or other third-party reimbursement, and restricted funding

• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP), federal and state funding requirements, and regulatory compliance

Essential Responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO to develop financial strategies that advance Best Point's mission and long-term sustainability.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial analysis across the organization.

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and applicable regulations.

• Direct annual audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance activities.

• Oversee accounting for grants, contracts, restricted funding, and multiple revenue sources.

• Monitor organizational financial performance, productivity, and key financial indicators to support informed decision-making.

• Provide meaningful financial analysis to executive leadership, helping prioritize investments that strengthen programs and improve client outcomes.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Build strong partnerships across departments to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and stewardship of organizational resources.

• Support strategic initiatives that ensure Best Point remains financially healthy and positioned for future growth.
