Proner & Proner is an established Manhattan plaintiff's personal injury firm seeking an experienced litigation associate who is ready to take ownership of cases and manage a litigation caseload with substantial independence.

Our practice includes significant New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240 and 241 matters, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability cases and other serious personal injury claims.

This is not a junior training position . We are looking for an attorney who already knows how to move a New York personal injury case through litigation and who wants meaningful responsibility within an established plaintiff's practice.

The Position

The attorney will have primary responsibility for an existing caseload and will work directly with the firm's principal and litigation team.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently managing plaintiff's personal injury cases through litigation

• Taking and defending depositions

• Drafting and arguing substantive motions

• Managing discovery and resolving discovery disputes

• Appearing for court conferences, hearings and arguments

• Developing liability and damages strategies

• Communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel

• Reviewing medical evidence and working with experts

• Evaluating cases for settlement and negotiating with carriers and defense counsel

• Preparing matters for trial

Trial experience is welcome but is not required. We are principally interested in finding an attorney who is already capable of independently managing litigation, handling depositions and motion practice, exercising good judgment and moving cases forward.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York Bar

• Meaningful New York plaintiff's personal injury litigation experience

• Experience personally taking and defending depositions

• Experience drafting and arguing substantive motions

• Ability to manage deadlines and a significant caseload without constant supervision

• Strong writing, advocacy and client-management skills

• New York Labor Law experience strongly preferred

• Spanish fluency strongly preferred

• Connecticut admission is a plus

Our firm has a substantial Spanish-speaking clientele, and a bilingual attorney who can communicate directly and comfortably with Spanish-speaking clients would be particularly valuable.

Compensation

Base salary of approximately $150,000–$200,000+, depending upon experience and demonstrated ability , together with performance-based bonus compensation, major medical insurance and 401(k).

Exceptional candidates with substantial relevant experience will be considered above the stated range.
