DMLSS/Accounting Clerk

Valiant is looking for a DMLSS/Accounting Clerk to join our team! This position uses subject‑matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. The Clerk selects from multiple methods and regularly solves problems by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, experience or procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Executing a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically). Verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information. Handling and adjusting complaints. Enter WR into the government database, order materials, associate materials with particular WR, adjust WR status and generally ensure that the DMLSS database is kept up to date and accurate. Update RPIE upon request and be responsible for compiling reports. Maintain journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system and balances and reconciles accounts. Reviewing invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit determining accounts involved. Code transactions, and processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system. Analyze and reconcile computer printouts with operating unit reports (contacting units, researching causes of discrepancies, and taking action to ensure that accounts balance through reconciliation efforts). Provide suggestions for handling unusual or non‑recurring transactions. Conformance with requirements and technical soundness of completed work are reviewed by the Clerk or are controlled by mechanisms built into the accounting process. General office management/support, timekeeping and charge number/code verification, monitoring/ordering office supplies and answering internal/external calls for WR. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Education Requirements: High School Diploma Required Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience in office clerical duties. DMLSS experience and training. Physical Requirements Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
