Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Operative

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the specific needs of the patient population served. The RN ensures that quality care is delivered in an efficient and safe manner, aligned with the unit's standards of care. This role encompasses demonstrating performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization, while treating patients, families, and staff with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to organizational competencies, including Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Conduct initial assessments and prioritize care based on patient needs, symptoms, and psychosocial factors.
• Regularly re-assess patients to track progress and identify necessary interventions.
• Develop and implement measurable individualized care plans within established timeframes.
• Make informed nursing decisions based on comprehensive evaluations of patient outcomes and modify care plans as needed.
• Engage in health education and discharge planning for patients and significant others.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements:

Education/Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current knowledge and skills relevant to the patient population served.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to patients' rights in care delivery.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, tailored to the developmental age of patients.

Experience:

• Newly hired nurses with two years or less of experience will be considered for entry-level positions. Candidates with relevant experience or certifications may be eligible for higher clinical ladder levels.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Current RN license in New Mexico or a compact state license.
• BLS Certification from AHA.
• ACLS Certification from AHA.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring five 8-hour shifts per week.

Floating and On-Call Requirements:

Floating to various locations may be required. On-call duties include 1-2 evenings per week.

Dress Code:

Pewter scrubs are to be worn during shifts.
