Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Three shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide primary care to high-risk psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department, including medication administration, use of restraints, and de-escalation techniques
• Conduct comprehensive psych assessments and determine necessary patient disposition (inpatient, discharge, or involuntary hold)
• Coordinate inpatient placements, safety planning, and necessary patient transport
• Respond to hospital-wide behavioral emergencies, de-escalating crisis situations and supporting both staff and patients

Desired Qualifications:

• Active KS or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum two years of acute psychiatric nursing experience (hospital setting preferred)
• Proficiency in conducting assessments for psych patients and working with violent or escalated individuals
• Strong, independent clinical judgment and confident crisis response skills
• New graduates are not eligible for this position
