Production Supervisor

The production supervisor collaborates with others to plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, as well as recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. In addition, will run the UTECO press as needed.

PAY RATE: $35+

SHIFTS: 2nd (3pm - 11:30pm) and 3rd shift (11pm – 7:30am)

Essential Functions:

• Hire, train, and develop team members and hold them accountable.
• Uphold B+W policies and procedures.
• Balance quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve all established goals.
• Lead the production team to continuously improve operations performance.
• Manage production performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to production / plant manager.
• Collaborate widely to optimize performance of entire B+W operation.
• Perform accident investigations.
• Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
• Maintain security of the facility.
• Review job performance of team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate with other departments regarding job status and press schedule.
• Perform all essential job functions in accordance with company policies and safe operating procedures.
• Participate in department meetings, training, and continuous improvement events.
• Serve as an example of what our company values most: innovation, respect, integrity, creativity and collaboration.
• Work together professionally in a team environment with co-workers and other department personnel.
• Assist in investigating root cause analysis & corrective actions for department as needed.
• Understands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations associated with Brook & Whittle and the Pressroom Department.
• Will work directly with all press operators to ensure jobs are run to customer's critical to quality requirements.
• Represent operations during Customer Press Approvals.
• Develop an understanding of lean manufacturing techniques to implement process improvements and optimal use of manufacturing resources.
• Reviews Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) to ensure area is on track to meet overall departmental objectives.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Degree in business, management, logistics or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a production environment.
• Willing and able to meet the physical and safety requirements of the role
• Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in quality management and lean manufacturing preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to allow effective interaction with customers and leadership.
• Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands:

• Being on feet for an extensive period while working on production floor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
