We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Safety and Risk Management to lead enterprise-wide risk, insurance, and safety training programs for our organization. This is a high-visibility leadership role overseeing Safety, Security, Claims, Cyber Risk, Insurance, and Training functions - with direct influence on how we protect our people, our assets, and our reputation.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and lead enterprise-wide risk management and safety programs that protect the company's reputation, safety, security, and financial stability
• Conduct risk assessments across our fleet, operations, facilities, and insurance programs to identify vulnerabilities and close gaps
• Manage our insurance programs end to end — policy renewals, coverage evaluation, premium negotiations, and proposals to executive leadership
• Direct and oversee the Safety, Security, Claims, Cyber Risk, Insurance, and Training departments
• Serve as the primary liaison to attorneys, insurance brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and regulators
• Oversee insurance claims handling, including investigations, negotiations, and settlements
• Set the company-wide safety training strategy, ensuring programs align with business goals and regulatory requirements
• Guide and support the Safety Training and Development Manager and training staff on curriculum, delivery, and program effectiveness
• Analyze claims, accident, and risk data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
• Present risk and safety strategy, reports, and proposals to executive and senior leadership
• Identify cost-saving opportunities across insurance, risk, and safety programs

What You Bring (Required):

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Safety, or a related field
• At least 6 years of experience in program/risk management
• At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience
• 5+ years of corporate risk management and/or insurance industry experience
• Strong understanding of risk management and safety best practices, and the legal and regulatory landscape around organizational liability and insurance
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Insurance broker experience
• Experience with large, complex property & casualty insurance programs (fronted programs, alternative risk programs, captive or structured insurance)
• RMIS system experience (Origami, Riskonnect, Ventiv/RiskConsole, or similar)
• Industry designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AIC
• Experience overseeing defensive driving or fleet safety training programs
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
