Description: The Pharmacist Staff provides safe and effective medication therapy for optimal patient outcomes. This position ensures the completion and documentation of all work, including that of technicians. The role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate. Responsibilities include advising about medications, medication therapy, and therapeutic drug monitoring. The Pharmacist Staff verifies physician orders for safety and optimal medication therapy. Accountability for the completion and accuracy of all work, including that of technicians, is essential. Maintaining proper storage and dispensing of medications is a critical part of the role. The Pharmacist Staff ensures the readiness of all emergency carts and compounds pharmaceutical products. Drugs handled may represent potential hazards, and safety precautions must be utilized.
