Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to support the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure projects across water supply, wastewater collection, treatment and related civil works. This role will suit an engineer with strong technical capability, sound commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering safe, sustainable and practical solutions. You will contribute to projects from feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction support and completion.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, reports and technical documentation; assessing existing water and wastewater assets; developing hydraulic models and evaluating system performance; and supporting the selection of appropriate treatment, pumping, pipeline and network solutions. You will coordinate with surveyors, planners, environmental specialists, contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet project requirements, applicable standards, regulatory obligations and health and safety expectations. The role will also involve assisting with cost estimates, programmes, risk assessments, procurement documentation, site inspections and responses to technical queries during construction.


Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental or water engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure. Experience with hydraulic modelling software, design and drafting packages, technical reporting and industry standards is desirable. You will be expected to communicate clearly with clients, project teams and stakeholders, manage competing priorities and demonstrate a methodical approach to problem-solving. Professional registration or progress towards chartered status will be advantageous. Above all, you should be collaborative, commercially aware and motivated to contribute to projects that improve community infrastructure and environmental outcomes.
