Cyber Security Specialist

Description Avatar Computing is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support the Army's Enterprise Application/System Modernization and Migration (EAMM) program. You will be responsible for protecting the organization's information systems and assets from potential threats and breaches. You will implement and manage security measures, conduct risk assessments, and develop security policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment. Key Responsibilities: Implement and manage security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing Develop and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Perform incident response and handling for security events Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate threats Monitor security trends and emerging threats to maintain proactive defense posture Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information Collaborate with IT, identity management, and compliance teams to ensure holistic security coverage Qualifications US Citizen (No Dual Citizens) Active Secret Clearance Required Security+ or equivalent certification Strong knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework Experience with Incident Response Operations Proficiency in security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM) Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing Ability to stay current on the latest security trends and threats Avatar Computing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
