Associate Software Engineer

An international transformation consultancy is looking to hire an associate engineer on a contract-to-hire basis. What You’ll Do Translate business problems into clean, maintainable technical designs that balance practicality with long‑term vision. Build and refine backend services, APIs, and application components using modern languages and frameworks. Contribute to architectural discussions, proposing improvements that strengthen performance, security, and resilience. Review code thoughtfully—offering constructive feedback and championing engineering excellence. Diagnose issues across the stack, from data inconsistencies to performance bottlenecks, and implement durable fixes. Participate in iterative development rituals, helping the team plan, adapt, and continuously improve. Create documentation that future engineers will actually appreciate—clear, concise, and purposeful. Look for opportunities to optimize existing systems, reduce complexity, and improve developer experience. Share knowledge generously and help cultivate a collaborative engineering culture. What You Bring Strong command of at least one modern programming language (Java or Python ideally, will consider .Net or Node). Solid understanding of object‑oriented design and software architecture fundamentals. Experience building web applications or services using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, Express, or equivalents. Familiarity with relational and non‑relational databases, along with practical experience writing efficient queries. Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. Ability to break down complex problems and debug issues methodically. Exposure to Agile development practices and iterative delivery. Understanding of RESTful API patterns and integration strategies. Bonus Points Experience deploying or operating systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and distributed system patterns. Background with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or performance tuning. Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and system-level optimization.
