Our challenge

\n

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable, robust enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Angular. Ideal candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions, leading technical initiatives, and driving best practices.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Cleveland OH/ Pittsburgh, PA is $125k - $130k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level web applications and services.
\n
• Architect and develop microservices using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
\n
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with various systems and third-party services.
\n
• Develop, test, and deploy front-end applications using Angular, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface.
\n
• Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture, stream processing, and real-time data ingestion.
\n
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.
\n
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
\n
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
\n
• Participate in architectural discussions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions.

Requirements:

\n

\n
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
\n
• Strong professional experience in Java full stack development.
\n
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
\n
• Hands-on experience working with Kafka and building event-driven systems.
\n
• Proficiency in front-end development using Angular (version 8+ preferred).
\n
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
\n
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
\n
• Solid understanding of API design, data modelling, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
\n
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect scalable solutions.
\n
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
\n

Preferred, but not required:

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git).
\n
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
\n
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
\n
