Description:
In this position, the Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications.
Responsibilities include transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the ultrasound examination process.
The Sonographer is responsible for the appropriate operation of all ultrasound imaging and related equipment.
They educate, position, immobilize, and perform ultrasound procedures appropriately.
Coordination of ultrasound examinations is essential to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
The Sonographer understands and follows imaging orders correctly, submitting required images and related clinical information for interpretation.
They evaluate image quality and maintain open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, and Radiologists.
Responsibilities also include utilizing, charging, and maintaining department supplies appropriately.
Practicing sterile techniques and following infection prevention policies is a critical part of the role.
The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines is important.
The Sonographer safely performs ultrasound procedures, including patient transfers.
