The Department of Public Health's Tewksbury Hospital is looking for an outgoing and reliable individual to fill an Electrician I position. This role performs all necessary activities to properly design, inspect, repair, install, maintain, alter and remove electrical, TV cabling, alarm and CCTV systems. They work closely with other hospital employees and contractors to ensure the operation, safety and regulatory compliance of all electrical systems. Tewksbury Hospital is a Joint Commission 360-bed accredited long-term and acute care hospital that provides comprehensive treatment, care, and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses. A full range of services are provided including 24/7 nursing, nurse practitioners, medicine, as well as psychiatric and psychological services, a six-bed inpatient dialysis unit, clinical laboratory, radiology, respiratory care, nutrition, speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and pharmacy. This is a 40 hour per week position, working 7am-3:30pm. The days off are Saturday and Sunday.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and ability to interpret all state and local electrical codes, regulations and standards
• Knowledge of the types and uses of equipment including testing equipment used in electrical work.
• Knowledge of safety practices and precautions observed in the electrical trade.
• Ability to perform all physical activities related to the duties outlined on this document.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lead a group of workers.
• Ability to make decisions and act quickly in emergency situations.
