Job Description:


- Seeking a dynamic and dedicated pharmacist ready to make a difference in patient care!

Key Responsibilities:


- Prepare and dispense drug orders promptly and accurately according to physician requests.
- Interpret drug orders (both verbal and written) and transcribe/verify them into the computerized patient medication record.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient drug records.
- Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including both non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records in compliance with legal and institutional policies.
- Supervise and direct pharmacy support personnel and verify their daily activities.


Clinical Duties:


- Ensure safe and appropriate drug therapies for patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness.
- Assist with pharmacokinetics consultation service and renal drug dosing following hospital protocols.
- Provide clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on medication use per institutional guidelines.

Requirements:


- Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy degree is required.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- TX state Pharmacy licensure is required.
- BLS or ACLS (AHA only) certification is required.
- PALS (AHA only) certification is required.


Work Schedule:


- Rotating shifts including 07:30-16:00, 08:00-16:30, and 14:00-22:30.
