Rail UnloadersLocation: Hughson, CA - Full/Part-Time: Full-time - Regular/Temporary: Regular - FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly) - Shift: Swing - Salary Range: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the rail unloader is required to operate, monitor, and maintain all aspects of the rail operation at this facility.Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Ability to operate, monitor, and maintain all aspects of the rail operation at this facility. This will include operation of the locomotive, keeping a daily inventory of all rail cars, unloading of cargo, routing products to the proper area of the facility, and maintenance of all components of the rail operation.Applicants must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record.Participation in a random drug testing program will be required.The successful candidate will be in good physical condition, able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 100 feet, communicate clearly and audibly in a noisy environment, understand all railroad vocabulary, and be flexible to work varying schedules and overtime as needed.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications Knowledge of:Methods and techniques for safe work practicesAbility to:Work in confined spaces and/or at high elevationsPerform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazardsWork flexibly and varying work schedules including on-call, overtime as neededPerform basic mathematical problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide)Work independently with minimal supervisionBuild and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customersFollow written and verbal instructions; problem solveCommunicate effectively in English (verbal/written)Complete written work orders legibly and keep records to coordinate feed schedulesContribute to a positive work environmentDemonstrate good organization skillsMinimum Job Requirements, Experience and Training Guidelines:High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experienceAbility to lift/carry up to 75 pounds up to 100 feet (e.g., sack feed bag)Previous feed/agricultural experience desiredBasic computer skillsWork varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtimeValid California driver's license and insurable driving recordParticipation in random drug/alcohol DOT testing program is requiredSpecial Demands Physical and mental requirements:Frequent standing for long period of timeFrequent bending, squatting, and kneelingFrequent lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds up to 100 feetFrequent grasping, holding, and reachingConstant use of overall visionFrequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditionsFrequent co-worker contact; occasional working aloneFrequent exposure to loud noiseWorking Conditions Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy, and slick environment.
