Janitor

Janitors are responsible for keeping assigned facilities clean, orderly, and safe for daily use. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, sanitizing restrooms, restocking basic supplies, and reporting maintenance concerns or safety hazards. Work may also involve setting up rooms for use, cleaning spills, and following cleaning procedures for different surfaces and materials. A baseline qualification is the ability to follow instructions, work independently or with limited supervision, and maintain consistent attention to detail. Prior custodial experience is helpful but not always required. This role commonly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting light to moderate items such as trash bags or cleaning equipment. Schedule may include daytime, evening, or overnight hours depending on operational needs, with weekends or holidays as assigned.
