DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides clerical support that helps the Bureau of Radiation Protection operate efficiently and accurately. The role supports many administrative tasks that help staff manage records, communications, and essential program functions. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Correspondence Preparation: Prepare and format letters, emails, memos, and certificates for registrants, licensees, and certificate holders
- Record Management: Enter permits, fees, terminations, and other data into agency systems and maintain electronic filing structures
- Phone Support: Answer calls, provide basic information, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members across the Radiation Protection Program
- Mail Processing: Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including preparing items for mailing and delivering them to designated pick up points
- Document Digitizing: Scan, copy, convert, and organize documents using OCR software and file them according to established procedures
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
