Job Title: Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering Job Code: 41751 Job Location: Canoga Park, CA Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Job Description: We are seeking a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineering (1st Shift) with a focus in Welding to join our Manufacturing team in Canoga Park, CA. At our Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area) facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA's SLS, Lockheed Martin's THAAD, Sierra Nevada's Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover. Essential Functions: * Troubleshoot critical weldments ensuring best practices for weld fit-up, cleanliness requirements and weld parameters are followed * Document best practices to support production * Assist with root cause analysis and disposition discrepant hardware * Accurately report problems, solutions, and results * Communicate effectively between team members and customer counterparts Qualifications: * Requires practical knowledge of welding and general fabrication. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, min of 8 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: * Previous experience E.B welding, manual, In-Place-Tube and/or Automatic GTAW * Experience working with Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ), setting weldments up for exact shrinkages to fit TWJ post weld * Experience with weld, braze and assemblies' specifications * Working with D17.1 or Journeyman Weld certifications * Moving large structures or hardware In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of California is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
