RN - Behavioral Health Nurse | PT Nights

Join a compassionate healthcare team delivering professional nursing care focused on behavioral health during part-time night shifts. This role involves providing patient-centered care under physician guidance, mentoring new staff and students, and performing nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and address patient needs while maintaining comprehensive care plans.
• Promote patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
• Administer and evaluate medications accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including disease processes and symptom management.
• Document care activities promptly and accurately following organizational policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding protected health information.
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact or relevant state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.
• Previous experience in a similar behavioral health environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong nursing principles application.
• Effective communication and multitasking skills.
• Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency.
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Physical Requirements: This role may require occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 51-75% of the shift, with or without accommodation.
