Job Description
Step into a dynamic educational support role as a floating substitute paraprofessional serving multiple schools across a prominent Minnesota district. This contract opportunity is perfect for those who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working with diverse student populations, particularly in special education (SPED) settings.
You'll be a vital resource, responding to coverage needs in schools throughout key district crews, including Champlin Park, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, Andover, and at the Rivertrail Learning Center. Expect to support classroom instruction, assist students with behavioral or special needs, follow Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and occasionally provide toileting assistance as required. This role guarantees 30 hours per week during regular school weeks, providing stability and predictable scheduling as you float between elementary, middle, and high schools as needed.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly qualified paraprofessional status required by one of the following:
- Passing the Minnesota Para Educator Exam
- Completion of at least 60 college credits (must provide transcripts, not just a diploma)
- Previous experience in school settings and with student behavior support
- Reliable transportation to travel between assigned district schools
- Comfortable assisting with physical needs such as toileting and addressing behavioral challenges
- Flexibility and adaptability, ready to switch between 1:1 and classroom aide roles
Primary Responsibilities:
- Fill in for staff absences as assigned, providing both 1:1 and general classroom support
- Implement student BIPs and collaborate with educators
- Assist with personal and behavioral needs to foster learning and inclusion
- Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding assignments and coverage
This assignment offers a pay rate of $20 per hour for crew support and $21 per hour for Rivertrail Learning Center support, with 30 hours per week guaranteed during schools in session.
Ready to make a direct impact across multiple school communities? Apply now by submitting your resume and highly qualified documentation to be considered for one of these valued positions!
