Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

Assignment Details

• Location: Allen, Texas

• Start Date: October 5, 2026

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Positions: 3

• Practice Setting: Acute Care Hospital

• Coverage: Scheduled + No Call

• EMR: Epic

• Hospital Birth Volume: Approximately 569 births annually

Compensation: $80/hr

Schedule

• Minimum of 4 shifts per month

• 12-hour or 24-hour shifts available

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

• 24-Hour Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM

• No call

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care

• Monitor fetal health and manage labor progression

• Support natural childbirth techniques, including mobility and hydrotherapy

• Manage pain during labor, including epidurals and other medications

• Perform deliveries and necessary medical interventions

• Provide postpartum assessment and recovery support

• Provide lactation support

• Provide newborn care

Required Skills

• Must be First Assist trained

• Must have active First Assist cases

• Intrapartum and postpartum management experience

• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative OB/CNM practice

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Patient-centered approach emphasizing patient preferences, shared decision-making, and holistic care

Support

• 24-hour in-house OB/GYN coverage

• 1–2 CNMs onsite together

• Pediatric Hospitalist onsite

Requirements

• Active AMCB certification

• Current Texas RN license

• Current Texas APRN license

• NRP required by start date

• BLS required by start date

• 2 years of intrapartum/postpartum experience preferred

• Obstetric Ultrasound certification preferred

• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred

• Lactation consultation certification preferred
