The team oversees strategic planning, governance, and execution support for Store Experience and CAPEX investments across boutiques, department stores, specialty retail, and other key points of sale.The team partners cross-functionally with Retailer teams, Store Design, Production, Finance, Planning, Trade Marketing, Field teams, Global partners, and external vendors to ensure that in-store environments are elevated, consistent, operationally feasible, and aligned with business priorities. This includes supporting permanent merchandising, retail environment investments, budget governance, inventory planning, database management, and performance analysis connected to the physical expression of the brand.As the scope and complexity of the F&B retail network continue to evolve, the team is focused on building stronger tools, processes, data visibility, and decision-making frameworks to enable more strategic investment, stronger execution, and clearer measurement of impact.The Senior Manager, Business Operations serves as the operational backbone of the CAPEX & Store Experience Strategy team. This role is responsible for developing the business processes, financial governance, planning capabilities, reporting infrastructure, and analytical tools that enable strategic decision-making across the U.S. Fragrance & Beauty retail network.**What impact you can create at CHANEL:** * This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, inventory, data, and retail execution.* It is designed for someone who is highly Excel-proficient and detail-oriented, but also able to think beyond the spreadsheet – connecting budgets, inventory, data, and performance results into clear insights that support stronger business decisions.**Financial Planning & Governance*** Lead the financial planning, governance, and operational management of Store Experience and CAPEX investments. This role ensures strong financial discipline across the portfolio by providing visibility into budgets, forecasts, retailer billing, investment tracking, and overall financial performance while supporting informed business decision-making.* Responsibilities include:* Lead budget planning, forecasting, reconciliation, retailer billing, and financial reporting across the Store Experience and CAPEX portfolio.* Partner with Finance, Production, Store Design, and Retailer teams to manage financial governance, monthly close activities, and investment tracking.* Maintain visibility into project commitments, actual spend, forecasts, and financial risks while providing leadership with meaningful reporting and recommendations.* Support the evolution of CAPEX governance processes, investment tracking, and ROI measurement frameworks to strengthen future capital planning.**Business Planning & Operational Readiness*** Lead inventory planning and operational readiness for permanent merchandising, POS elements, and retail environment assets, ensuring the organization has the visibility and planning tools needed to successfully execute current and future initiatives.* Responsibilities include:* Lead inventory planning and forecasting based on project pipeline, retailer priorities, business needs, and future investments.* Maintain enterprise visibility across merchandising assets, identifying inventory risks, shortages, and optimization opportunities.* Partner with Merchandise Planning, Supply Planning, Order Management, Global teams, warehouse partners, and Retailer teams to align planning and execution.* Develop planning tools and reporting that improve forecasting accuracy, operational readiness, and business decision-making.**Merchandising Systems & Data Governance*** Lead the governance and continuous evolution of the F&B Merchandising Database as the organization’s core business system and centralized source of truth for retail environment data.* Responsibilities include:* Serve as the business owner of the Merchandising Database, ensuring ongoing data integrity, governance, and operational excellence.* Drive continuous enhancement of the platform by partnering with IT and business stakeholders to improve functionality, reporting capabilities, and user experience.* Establish governance standards, reporting structures, and business processes that improve data quality, visibility, and decision-making.* Champion adoption of the database as a strategic planning and reporting tool across cross-functional partners.**Business Intelligence & Performance Insights*** Leverage financial, operational, and performance data to generate insights that improve business performance, support strategic decision-making, and measure the impact of Store Experience investments.* Responsibilities include:* Develop and maintain KPI reporting across Store Experience initiatives and CAPEX investments.* Evaluate business performance, test-and-learn initiatives, and post-project results to identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations.* Translate financial, inventory, and operational data into executive-ready insights that support prioritization and future investment decisions.* Build dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into portfolio performance and overall business health.**You are energized by:*** The ideal candidate is a highly analytical business operator who enjoys bringing structure to complexity.* They are energized by solving problems, improving business processes, and building the tools, reporting, and governance that help organizations operate more effectively.**What you will bring to the team:*** The ideal candidate is a highly analytical business operator who enjoys bringing structure to complexity. They thrive in cross-functional environments, build strong partnerships across diverse teams, and are equally comfortable diving into operational details or presenting recommendations to senior leadership.**Position Logistics:** * Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at NYC office* Bachelor’s degree in related field required* Advanced Excel skills required; ability to manage large data sets, build trackers, create reporting tools, and synthesize complex information.* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, invoices, forecasts, reconciliations, accruals, or related financial processes.* Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate information into actionable insights.* Comfortable working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization, comfortable managing complex, multi-step processes across different stakeholders and timelines.* Retail, beauty, merchandising, store design, CAPEX, finance, supply chain, inventory planning, or operations experience preferred.**Compensation:*** The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,500 through $135,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position.
