- Technical Support Tech IIIApply**Job#: 3045863****Job Description:**Technical Support Tech III**Location:** Seattle, Washington (Onsite)COMPENSATION: $30 - $36 HOURLYRole OverviewThis organization seeks a Powder Coating Technician to perform powder coating operations on manufactured components. The successful candidate will apply powder coatings to parts produced through various methods, ensuring high-quality surface finishes that meet customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of coating processes, and the ability to operate coating equipment safely and effectively.Key Responsibilities* Apply powder coatings to manufactured components using electrostatic spray guns.* Perform surface preparation including cleaning, degreasing, and media blasting.* Mask parts to protect critical features and threads from coating.* Load and unload parts from coating racks and fixtures and operate curing ovens.* Inspect coated parts for quality defects and measure coating thickness.* Operate and perform routine maintenance on powder coating equipment.* Verify coating quality meets customer specifications and color standards.* Maintain accurate coating records and support ISO 9001 compliance.* Follow all safety protocols and handle coating materials and chemicals safely.* Coordinate with manufacturing teams on component readiness and coating priorities.Required Qualifications**Education:** High school diploma or equivalent.**Experience:** 1+ years of powder coating experience or equivalent technical training.**Technical Skills:** Knowledge of powder coating processes and equipment, proficiency with coating thickness measurement tools, and basic computer skills for documentation.**Other:** Ability to identify coating defects and quality issues, strong attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Preferred Qualifications* 2+ years of powder coating experience in a manufacturing environment.* Technical certification or vocational training in coating technology.* Experience with electrostatic spray application and surface preparation techniques like media blasting.* Familiarity with color matching, coating specifications, and multiple coating types (polyester, epoxy, hybrid).* Experience in contract manufacturing or high-mix production environments.* Forklift certification.Company OverviewThis organization specializes in the production of high-quality components through additive manufacturing, CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, powder coating, and assembly.
