Medical Assembly

All shifts available. Pay range: $21/hr - $23/hr.

Job Description

The Implant Operator assembles and inspects sub-assemblies for implantable medical devices, working primarily under a microscope on very small components. This role requires excellent manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise procedures in a cleanroom environment. The position also includes cross-training to operate press machines and other production equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies for implantable medical devices using microscopes for approximately 90% of the workday.
• Handle and assemble extremely small parts, including components as small as the head of a pin, using hand tools and specialized equipment.
• Inspect products throughout the assembly process to ensure they meet quality and medical device standards.
• Perform testing on assembled products to verify functionality and compliance with specifications.
• Operate press machines and other production machinery after receiving appropriate cross-training.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy, organization, and documentation during all assembly and inspection activities.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain a controlled and contamination-free environment.
• Work effectively as part of a fast-paced production team, supporting colleagues and sharing tasks as needed.
• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and meeting production timelines.
• Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and a positive, professional attitude on the production floor.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in medical assembly using a microscope.
• Proven dexterity and strong handeye coordination for working with very small components.
• Ability to use a microscope for extended periods to assemble and inspect parts.
• Experience using basic hand tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Strong attention to detail to identify defects and ensure product quality.
• Ability to cross-train and perform tasks in different areas of production as required.
• Organizational skills to manage parts, tools, and documentation efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Capability to prioritize work and multitask while maintaining quality standards.
• Reliable attendance and a positive, cooperative attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with medical molding processes.
• Previous experience working in a cleanroom environment, ideally Class 7 or Class 8.
• Experience operating production machinery such as presses, injection or molding equipment.
• Familiarity with trimming, molding, and other small-part fabrication processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a very clean medical production environment, with assembly areas and some press machines located in Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms. You will spend much of the day working at a workstation under a microscope, handling small parts and operating equipment in a controlled setting. The facility is a newer building with a comfortable, well-equipped break room for rest periods. Work is performed in a team-oriented production area that emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to cleanroom protocols; attire and behavior must comply with cleanroom and safety requirements at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.43/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
