Job Description:

Caring for patients pre-op, phase I, and phase II recovery. PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and caring for patients in Phase I. Candidates require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications.

Responsibilities:

• Caring for patients pre-op, phase I, and phase II recovery
• Assessing incision sites and monitoring body temperature
• Tracking indicators of stability or complications

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may substitute for PACU nurse experience
• Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• A valid professional license within the state of practice
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended
• Other specialty-related certifications (i.e., NIHSS & TNCC) are preferred
