Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Registered Nurse PACU

Schedule: Variable - Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours and can include Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays.

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: Not guaranteed

Requirements:

• Valid nursing license within the state of practice
• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (e.g., ER & ICU) may be accepted as a substitute for PACU nurse experience
• Valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential recommended
• Specialty-related certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide care for patients in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases.
• Assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and the care of patients in Phase I recovery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to respond to patient needs effectively.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must apply for a State of HI license upon acceptance of the offer if not currently held.
• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved application for medical or religious exception required prior to contract start date.
• Must arrive the Thursday before the start to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
