Material Handler / Sit-Down Forklift OperatorThis role is a hands-on material handler position in a warehouse and production environment, responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift, managing raw materials and finished goods, and supporting a smooth, accurate, and efficient production and shipping process. The material handler works closely with production and shipping teams to ensure materials are correctly received, stored, staged, and loaded while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.ResponsibilitiesOperate a sit-down forklift to safely load and unload trucks and move skids and gaylords between the warehouse and production areas.Unload incoming trucks, stage raw materials in the warehouse, and confirm accuracy of shipments by checking counts and part numbers against shipping documents.Receive products into inventory, record them accurately, and stage them in designated warehouse locations.Learn and follow daily production schedules to pull the correct raw materials needed for production runs.Pull raw materials from the warehouse and stage them in appropriate areas on the production floor to support continuous production flow.Pull finished product from the production floor and stage it in the warehouse for shipping, ensuring proper placement and organization.Handle various aspects of inventory control, including material movement, staging, and basic order processing.Load trucks with finished goods for outbound shipments, ensuring correct items and quantities are prepared for delivery.Support shipping and receiving activities, including packing, picking, and processing orders as needed.Assist with general labor tasks related to production, packaging, and staging of finished materials.Follow detailed production and packaging instructions to help assure quality and conformance of materials, including size, shape, color, specific gravity, hardness, packaging, and labeling as specified by customer requirements and internal documentation.Maintain thorough and efficient clean-outs and housekeeping in work areas to avoid contamination and support a safe, organized environment.Work as part of a team to promote safety, efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and quality throughout the production and warehouse processes.Essential SkillsExperience operating a sit-down forklift, with the ability to safely load, unload, and move materials in a warehouse and production setting.Material handling experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.Background in shipping and receiving, including unloading trucks, staging materials, and preparing finished goods for shipment.Ability to handle inventory-related tasks such as receiving products into inventory and staging materials in appropriate locations.Experience with order processing activities such as picking, packing, and processing orders.Capability to perform general labor tasks in a production environment, including handling raw materials and finished products.Valid drivers license required for forklift use.Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally.Strong attention to detail to confirm incoming materials are accurate and meet documentation requirements.Ability to learn and follow production schedules and written instructions to support a smooth and quality production process.Commitment to safety, quality, efficiency, and teamwork in daily work.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is highly preferred; candidates with applicable experience may be considered without a diploma or GED.Comfort working in a plastics processing and extrusion environment.Willingness to perform thorough clean-outs and maintain excellent housekeeping to avoid contamination.Ability to follow detailed instructions related to product quality, packaging, labeling, and customer specifications.Reliability to work a consistent first-shift schedule with occasional extended hours or rare Saturday work as needed.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy strong benefits, clear opportunities for advancement, and regular pay increases tied to learning additional jobs and responsibilities within the company. The position follows a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of working until 4:30 p.m. as needed, Monday through Friday, and occasional but rare Saturday shifts. Work includes operating a sit-down forklift, handling materials, and performing physical tasks that may require lifting up to 55 pounds occasionally. Steel toe leather boots are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety in the warehouse and production environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
