HR Generalist / Manager

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Hayward, CA . This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable managing a broad range of human resources functions while also bringing strong payroll knowledge and a required PHR certification. The HR Generalist / Manager will support employees and leadership across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, performance management, payroll backup, and HR administration. Key Responsibilities Manage employee onboarding, orientation, employee relations, workplace conflict resolution, and ongoing HR support for employees and managers. Administer HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, employment regulations, and internal standards. Coordinate performance appraisal processes, support managers with performance improvement plans, and contribute to employee development initiatives. Manage benefits administration, employee records, HR reporting, regulatory documentation, and confidential HR information. Lead or support recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, hiring coordination, and new hire documentation. Provide payroll backup support as needed, with a strong focus on payroll accuracy, compliance, and HRIS/payroll system coordination. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $80,000 to $110,000 per year and still negotiable. Job type: Direct hire. Location: Hayward, CA.
