FLSA: Full-Time, Hourly, 8 Hour Shift, Union

Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor. Our mission is to provide our customers with Savings, Selection & Service, 7 Days a week. Position Summary:

We are looking for Cashiers to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts and keeping track of all cash, check and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. You should have open availability, including evenings (6 to 7 pm) and weekends. Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
2. Scan goods and ensure pricing & product is accurate
3. Collect payments whether in cash, check or credit
4. Issue receipts and change as necessary
5. Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
6. Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas

Requirements:

1. Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales
2. Basic PC knowledge
3. Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
4. Good math skills
5. Strong communication and time management skills
6. Customer satisfaction-oriented

Physical demands include, but are not limited to:

1. Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours/day
2. Frequently turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and/or bending
3. Frequently pushing/pulling objects 500 to 1,500 lbs.
4. Frequently lifting/carrying objects more than 60 lbs.

Work Environment:

1. Requires frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures
2. Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters)
3. Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
4. May be required to work in other departments as needed.
