Water/Wastewater Senior Project Engineer About the Role At David Evans and Associates, Inc., our Water and Environment team excels in managing complex whole‑system resources. Key Responsibilities Lead planning and design for municipal water and wastewater systems, including: Conveyance and pumping systems Storage and distribution systems Collection systems and treatment facilities Manage complex design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables, including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards. Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects. Team Leadership & Mentorship Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff. Review work for technical accuracy and quality. Support team development and contribute to a collaborative environment. Client Engagement & Business Development Build and maintain relationships with municipal (special purpose district and/or city) clients and regulatory agencies. Support proposal development, interviews, and pursuit strategies. Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PE license required or ability to obtain. 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater systems. Strong experience in municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater system design. Proven ability to lead design efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Experience managing or supporting projects through all phases of delivery. Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination. Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets). Strong communication and technical writing skills.
