Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with Oncology certification to join our team in a Chemo Infusion unit. This role involves direct patient care and the administration of chemotherapy in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Details

• Shift: Day Shift, 5 days a week (07:45 AM - 05:15 PM)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 during daytime shifts
• Orientation: 8 hours, with additional training as required
• Patient Demographics: Adults over the age of 18; focusing on Hematology & Medical Oncology
• Interdisciplinary Support: Includes IV teams, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and pharmacy
• Location: Matthews and Ballantyne Clinics in Matthews, NC (approx. 14.1 miles apart)

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of oncology-specific experience preferred; 1 year may be accepted for first-time travelers
• Skills Required:
  • Administration of chemotherapy
  • IV Therapy/Infusions
  • Central Line/Implanted Line Care
• Certifications:
  • BLS Certification Required
  • ONS Chemo/Bio Card Required
  • OCN Certification Preferred

Work Environment

The unit is equipped with ambulatory infusion pumps and supports a patient-centered approach to care. There are currently 10 infusion chairs available, allowing for effective social distancing within the care area.

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirements: No weekend shifts required
• Call Requirement: None
• Scrubs: Not provided; navy blue scrubs required
• Patient Visits: Approximately 90 visits per day
