Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist - Formulation & Nucleic Acid Stabilization

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist (or above) to join our growing startup and lead the development of innovative formulations for biomolecule stabilization. Must be New York City based. Key Responsibilities Optimize formulations for nucleic acid-based products. Develop and execute studies focused on nucleic acid stability (DNA, RNA, mRNA, siRNA, oligonucleotides). Design, perform, and interpret experiments using analytical chemistry and biochemistry techniques. Run bioassays, with a strong emphasis on PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, and other nucleic acid-based assays. Support the characterization of nucleic acid-based bioassays, life science reagents, and related technologies. Work independently to design experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and drive projects forward in a fast-paced startup environment. Contribute to laboratory operations, process development, and technology scale-up. Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with significant industry experience. Strong background in formulation development, particularly for nucleic acids. Extensive experience in nucleic acid stability analysis. Expertise in analytical chemistry and biochemistry techniques. Hands-on experience developing and running PCR / nucleic based assays and other nucleic acid-based bioassays and/or working with nucleic acid therapeutics. Ability to work autonomously and become productive in the laboratory with minimal supervision. Additional Qualifications Previous experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, with a strong interest in working in a startup environment. Strong background in formulation development, particularly for multiple biomolecules including proteins, enzymes etc. Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling systems, particularly Opentrons or similar robotic platforms.
