Bartender and Barista

First Light is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Barista and Bartender. This person will act as the face of First Light, serving customers throughout the day. Our ideal cafe employee must possess a community-oriented and positive attitude, working to get to know the patrons of the bookstore and cafe and providing them with excellent service. We’re looking for someone with a passion for coffee, beer and wine service who also possesses a love of reading and community. Compensation $12/hr + tips Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and adhere to dress code policies, wearing the First Light uniform and closed toe shoes Set up cafe and bar in a clean and efficient manner Make quality coffee, snacks, and beverages for guests to specification and in a timely manner Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages Gain knowledge of the Point of Sale (POS) system so that each transaction performed is accurate, handling both electronic and cash transactions Batch and re-stock syrups, teas, paper goods and pastries Curate a welcoming & fun environment that make guests feel at home Anticipate and communicate customer's service needs Restock items using the system First-in, First-out (FIFO) Check invoices for accuracy as deliveries arrive Clean during and at the end of each shift, according to the side-work assigned Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management at all times via phone, email, log books, and attending meetings to ensure all needs of the workplace are met Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition Give excellent customer service to each patron Qualifications Community oriented with a commitment to excellent customer service Cafe experience preferred Flexibility in schedule; ability to work early mornings, mid-day and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays are required Highly motivated with an attention to detail Up to date Food Handlers and TABC Certification required upon start date Full time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision for you and eligible dependents after 90 day probationary period 4300 Speedway Austin, TX 78751 View phone number on click.appcast.io Hours Coffee Window at 7 AM 9 AM - 9 PM - 7-Days a Week #J-18808-Ljbffr First Light Books
