Principal Production Engineer

To support the scaling of a data platform for millions of developers, the full-time remote Principal Production Engineer will lead design reviews, develop SDKs and tooling, and establish reliability strategies for database platforms. Key responsibilities Partner with product teams to shape data modeling and access for optimal application performance Design and ship SDKs and client libraries to enhance application development Set and define reliability strategies, including SLOs and operational standards for database systems Required qualifications 11+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with production software coding experience in languages such as C, Java, or Python 5+ years of experience operating large-scale distributed systems in production, including on-call rotation participation Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and load shedding plans Proven ability to influence engineering decisions and engage in system design discussions Experience with stateful services on managed cloud data stores and diagnosing scalability problems
