Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant - Construction Location: Colorado Springs, CO. Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 per year. This role works closely with the CFO and the accounting team to perform core accounting functions and ensure compliance with GAAP in a fast‑paced construction environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the accounting department. Prepare and review monthly financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Analyze and report on financial status, including income‑statement variances, and communicate results to management. Implement and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules. Process positive‑pay transactions accurately and timely. Manage tax planning and compliance with federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes. Handle construction accounting processes, recognizing revenue and costs at the project level. Coordinate and complete annual audits. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions. Continuously improve processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy of reporting and data analysis. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years senior‑level finance or accounting experience, preferably in construction. Proven experience managing WIP schedules. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles. Proficiency in creating and analyzing monthly financial reports. Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and database tools. Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, project‑management, and communication skills.
