Quick Facts: Location: Lafayette, LA Start Date: ASAP End Date/Duration: Ongoing Shift: Days; 8-hour shifts Hours/week: 40 Employment Type: Full-time License/Certs: Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license Experience: Prior experience in cardiovascular or thoracic surgery preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (please note this is a placeholder; pay package discussed upon application) Competitive benefits package to be discussed Travel stipends and malpractice insurance options available What You’ll Do: Conduct inpatient rounding on post-operative patients Assist with surgical consultations and patient assessments Provide emergency room call coverage as needed Participate in clinic sessions approximately 1 day per week, managing 15-20 post-op patients Support complex surgical procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomies, lobectomies, and aortic repairs Collaborate with a team of cardiovascular surgeons and advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality care Ensure compliance with facility protocols and patient safety standards What You Need: Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Louisiana Proven experience in cardiovascular and/or thoracic surgery preferred Excellent clinical and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills for managing post-op patients and surgical consults About the Assignment: Join a dedicated team at a leading facility known for its specialized cardiovascular and thoracic surgery services.
